The Return of Ulysses: An Opera in the Making is a mini-doc promo for Opera Atelier’s production of Monteverde’s opera. In four and a half minutes, the website viewer is privy to the rehearsal process while interviews with the co-artistic directors and two leads provide insights into the opera and its protagonists. I shot and directed the short film on my Canon C300 Mark II harnessing available light in Toronto’s Elgin Theatre rehearsal hall, and using Rosco LEDs to light the interviews in the theatre’s talent lounge.
